Tragedy of Troy ...was that I went to see it
Just caught the movie "Troy' today. Should have been sub-titled- 'Archilles pitts himself against the Trojans single handedly whilst Orlando blooms in his reprised role as the elven archer but in the guise of Paris'. For anyone who knows something about the legend of Troy, its a disappointment. Wished they had declared the movie storyline was "inspired" by Homer's Iliad at the beginning and not stuck it right at the end with the credits. Forewarned , I could have lowered my expectations and just enjoyed the battle scenes and CGI effects.
For the purists, I recommend the 'Helen of Troy' remake . Yes, Troy is the third movie on the subject.
Incidentally, the Greeks encamped on the beach supplemented their food supplies by catching and cooking small fish. Those who paid little attention found one side overcooked and the other side undercooked. Those who fussed to much by turning and flipping the fish over and over again found it breaking up into even smaller pieces.
